A tragic incident took place at the Surajkund fair in Faridabad, when a swing suddenly broke causing a stir. Police Inspector Jagdish Prasad lost his life in this accident. He was the SHO of Chandhat police station in Palwal district. There were about 26 people riding on the swing at the time of the accident, out of which 12 suffered serious injuries and were admitted to nearby hospitals.
Inspector Prasad tried to save the lives of people in this dangerous situation. But unfortunately, he lost his own life in this attempt. Haryana Tourism Minister, Arvind Kumar Sharma, visited the fair site and inquired about the condition of the injured. He assured full support to the families of the victims.
The state government has ordered an inquiry into the accident, and an ADC-led committee will investigate the circumstances of the incident. Initial reports suggest that there may be negligence on the part of the swing seller. Fair attendees and local residents praised the quick response of police and emergency service personnel, which saved many lives. This tragic incident highlights the need for strict security checks at public events and amusement parks.
