An elderly woman, Santosh Devi, has been seriously injured after being attacked by a group of monkeys in Bahadurgarh, Haryana. The incident occurred at around 1:45 am on December 26 and was captured on community CCTV. In the video, the woman was seen sitting comfortably on a chair, when suddenly six to seven monkeys attacked her.

CCTV footage showed the monkeys pouncing on the woman, biting her and pulling her hair. The woman struggled to save her life. The video of the incident has now gone viral on social media. Another woman in the family ran to help, but the monkeys tried to bite her too. Both the women escaped from there with difficulty.

Santosh Devi has been admitted to a hospital in Delhi, where she is undergoing treatment. Doctors have declared the condition of the injured woman to be stable but she has been advised to get several injections.

The attack has spread fear among residents of the area, especially the elderly and children. Local people say that some monkeys have been caught in recent times, but groups of monkeys are still seen roaming in many areas of the city.
