BSF successfully rescued 10 Bangladeshis who were drowning in river Ganga near the India-Bangladesh international border in Murshidabad district of West Bengal. A 30-day-old child and three women were involved in this rescue. This serious incident happened near Khandua Border Post on Saturday evening. The soldiers of 71st battalion of BSF immediately started the rescue operation with speedboat.

The people getting relief said that they were going from Chapai Nawabganj in Bangladesh towards Joharpur. Suddenly their boat overturned and they started flowing in the strong current. During monsoon, the depth of the Ganga reaches 100 feet in many areas, due to which capsizing of small and broken boats is common. At this time, the current of Ganga becomes strong, making it dangerous to cross the river.

BSF jawans provided first aid after evacuating everyone safely. After this he was taken to the nearest government hospital, where his condition is stable. According to reports, all the rescued Bangladeshis were later handed over to Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) officials.

Under the Coordinated Border Management Plan (CBMP) between India and Bangladesh, both sides work together to maintain border peace and assist in emergency situations. Especially during monsoon, when the water level of Ganga rises and rescue operations become challenging.
